Over the past two decades, we’ve built numerous Composite Elevated Tanks (CETs) across the United States. CETs combine the tensile strength of steel with the compressive characteristics of concrete. The result is a long-lasting water storage tank that’s cost effective to operate in larger sizes.

With reinforced support pedestals and stainless steel risers, our CETs require minimal maintenance, reducing long-term ownership costs. We offer straight, truncated tank designs as well as Waterspheroid® tanks, which provide less surface area to maintain. The concrete pedestal exterior is distinctive and attractive and ensures a completely dry interior. The durable exterior coating of the steel tank can be customized.

Increased safety and efficiency. All our CETs feature solid, flush threshold steel doors and internal access ladders for added security and safety. The pedestal may be designed with an interior control room and additional space that can be used for offices, fire stations and other facilities.

We offer a variety of options for our tanks, including heat tracing, dual risers, roof handrails, free-span floors, seal welding, cathodic protection, lightning protection, altitude valves, fail-safe roof vents, lighting and more.

Proven expertise. We have the in-house expertise and facilities to provide complete design-build services for water storage projects. Our people are experts in engineering, fabricating, welding, quality assurance, construction and painting water tanks. This comprehensive approach helps us minimize costs, adhere to project schedules and control quality.

Our record in the design and construction of water storage is unmatched. We built our first elevated water storage tank in 1884 and have been improving the concept ever since. We developed a unique trailing scaffold system that makes construction safer and more efficient while improving inspection access. Our standard dome-roof design minimizes internal structural members, reducing the incidence of underside corrosion. And we’ve been instrumental in the development of AWWA standards and ACI guidelines for Composite Elevated Tanks. Contact: water@CBI.com.
