CB&I provides turnaround and revamp services for alkylation and other refinery units. Our turnaround services include everything from cost estimating, planning and scheduling to process and detailed engineering, fabrication, procurement, construction and commissioning. Our projects have included shutdowns of entire plants as well as turnarounds of alkylation units, fluidized catalytic cracking units, process vessels, crude and vacuum units, coke drums, hydrocracker reactors, and trayed and packed towers.
We are known for having the resources to provide turnaround services anywhere around the globe under the most challenging conditions. With offices worldwide, we have ready access to an integrated team of engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and safety personnel. We can draw upon these resources to mobilize people, materials and equipment wherever and whenever they are needed.
Adding value for the customer. Our track record in completing turnarounds safely, on time and within budget is second to none. We succeed through a combination of meticulous planning, cost control, data analysis and scheduling. At the outset of every turnaround, we clearly define the project's requirements, develop a comprehensive plan, identify major milestones and develop a detailed schedule. Throughout implementation, we closely monitor progress, schedule, cost, materials, quality, equipment, personnel and subcontractors on a continuous basis to ensure that all project objectives are being met.
Safety is always a key consideration in planning and executing turnaround projects. For every project, we form a safety team that develops and implements a unique, site-specific safety program before fieldwork ever begins. Our safety and operations teams are closely integrated to ensure adherence to all project-specific safety measures.
Providing broad expertise. Turnaround projects are complex and often require expertise that spans many technical areas. Our engineers, supervisors and craftsmen collectively provide in-depth knowledge of many aspects of plant structure and operations. Our specialized in-house resources include:
- A facility for developing and testing welding processes, equipment and procedures
- A corporate construction technology group that focuses on heavy-lift engineering, construction procedures, training and accident prevention
- An engineering team focused on process design, analysis, detail repair and modifications, as well as piping, structural, pressure vessels, storage tanks, electrical systems, and instrumentation and controls.
- Fabrication facilities where vessel components, structural elements, modules and piping spools can be fabricated under controlled shop conditions, resulting in better quality control and improved schedules. Contact: turnarounds@CBI.com
